Pat Murphy, JD, CPA, Certified Fraud Examiner and
Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist is a retired Supervisory Special
Agent of the FBI with 26 years of experience.
He spent his career investigating and supervising complex white-collar
crime cases and public corruption. In
2003, Pat began what would go on to become the case known as Operation Board
Games which would lead to the indictment and conviction of Governor Rod
Blagojevich. In 2006, during this
investigation, Pat was promoted to Supervisory Special Agent in charge of the
Blagojevich investigation. He was also named the public corruption coordinator
for the Chicago office of the FBI. Pat also served on a fraud and corruption
task force in Iraq. Pat is the recipient
of the FBI Director's Award for Outstanding Investigation and the U.S. Attorney
General's Award for Distinguished Service.
After retiring from the FBI, Pat joined Grant
Thornton, LLP as Director of Forensic, Investigative and Dispute Services. Pat
led internal investigations for fraud, theft and corruption for corporate and
government clients.
Pat is currently the Vice President of
Investigations at Prescient, a due diligence, investigations, cyber and
intelligence firm.
